Welcome, to the 6th Annual Buddy Walk of South Plainfield-Serving Central New Jersey.  The walk was a great success, we had nearly 500 participants and raised over $31,000.00. Thank you to everyone that was apart of the day. The goal of the walk was to bring Down syndrome awareness to Central NJ and I think we did that.

The Buddy Walk of South Plainfield is now a Tax Exempt 501c(3).
So checks will be made out to: Buddy Walk of South Plainfield

Let me give you some background on what a "Buddy Walk" is exactly.

The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote acceptance and awareness of people with Down syndrome.  The Buddy Walk is a one-mile advocacy walk in which anyone can participate and bring a special Buddy.  When the walk started in 1995 there were 17 walks but as of today there are more than 275 walks across the country and around the world. In 2008 the Buddy Walks raised over $10.5 million to benefit national education, research and advocacy initiatives, as well as local programs and services.

Thank you for your help!
